3000 XLF Fiberglass Crossflow cooling tower – flexible crossflow performance with CCS' exclusive FRP structure for the ultimate in service life.
For those commercial, light industrial and mission-critical process projects requiring 1000-3000 tons in a crossflow configuration, CCS' 3000XLF tower provides performance and service benefits that will continue years beyond other towers. Available in 21 sizes, with FRP, Stainless Steel or concrete basin, the 3000XLF can match your project footprint, weight and performance requirements.
The 3000XLF shares the same highly-engineered FRP structural components as the larger Phoenix and Titan towers. The standard structure with our large 6x6-inch "power columns" offers superior rigidity, with no requirement for scheduled re-torqueing of the stainless steel connectors. As with all our designs, all columns are anchored to the basin, regardless of basin material.
The illustration at the left shows the advantages of our open structure, including ease of access for serviceability, as well as fewer components and connections for faster installation. Structural components are manufactured and tested to our exact specifications, and ready to deliver a longer service life and greater UV protection and chemical resistance across a wider pH range. CCS Towers are engineered for a minimum structural life of 50 years.
CCS' standard design provides more flexibility in performance. Crossflow towers are inherently more energy-efficient than counterflow, but by adding our Multi-Flo™ distribution system, we further optimize performance by adjusting the number of spray nozzles, their capacity, and their placement to best match performance requirements. We also adjust the type and placement of fill. As a result, 3000XLF performance can be tuned to deliver more energy efficiency, especially in situations when widely varying flows are expected. Turndown capabilities can be as low as 30-50%, for a wider range of operation.
For any project there are multiple tower designs that can meet physical size and performance requirements. Determining which is most efficient or presents the best lifecycle cost can be a challenge. Our ThermaFit software utilizes the flexibility of CCS designs to produce multiple options in minutes. Engineers and CCS representatives can help select the tower configuration that is optimal for your project.
ThermaFit produces a full document package on the selected tower for your project, including a CTI data sheet; engineering specifications; tower and basin drawings; and performance curves and sound data.
For commercial buildings and light industrial applications where extended equipment life is required, the CCS 3000XLF fiberglass crossflow field-erected cooling tower provides a superior structure, the ultimate in corrosion protection and optimal performance.

All CCS 3000XLF columns are secured to the basin with stainless steel anchor shoes. The tower structure uses CCS' patented two- and three-bolt connections. Fill and drift supporters are bottom-supported with FRP supports. |
|
This condenser water return line extends over the FRP handrails. It is supported by the 3000XLF's 6"x6" pultruded FRP column which is anchored to the foundation. This minimizes requirements for additional lateral pipe support. |
|
Butterfly valves are true flow control valves, superior to dump valves used by competitors, and allow more positive balancing of distribution system. Removable hot water basin cover is at same elevation as fan deck, eliminating a trip hazard. |
|
CCS' patented hot water distribution system provides uniform flow of hot water over target nozzles. |
