CCS Wins FM Approved Fiberglass Cooling Tower Project for Massachusetts Institute of Technology

CCS won a significant commercial market project award to provide an FM Approved Phoenix® Tower for MIT. The tower is a six-cell, 12-fan (two fans per cell) tower including direct drive motors with variable frequency drives. This was one of eight options CCS submitted in response to MIT’s demand for the highest possible capacity within the available space. Using CCS’ ThermaFit™ software, the accepted tower design will deliver 37% greater capacity than MIT’s base bid spec, providing significant future growth capacity.

Principal entities on the project were Vanderweil Engineers, Engineer; Bond Brothers, Inc., General Contractor.
